Zidanica Verček

The cottage has a rich history, stretching from a small vintner’s house dating back to the era of Maria Theresa to today’s family story of a blacksmith. It has never been sold, and ownership has been passed down through generations. Every item inside has its own story, as everything the family no longer needed found its way into the cottage, giving it a charming ethnic style. The cottage can accommodate two guests.

With a bit of luck, during your visit to Verček Cottage, you might be welcomed by Godmother Jožefina, who invites you to a pušelšank. With a warm smile and genuine Dolenjska hospitality, she serves you a glass of cviček wine along with a “cottage snack” — a simple yet tasty bite that perfectly complements the wine.

Verček Cottage is part of the Open Vineyards Cottages project, where Trška gora’s wine cellar owners open their doors every weekend from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering visitors a chance to taste the best this wine-growing region has to offer. Additionally, it is part of the Vineyards Cottages Tourism product, as overnight stays are available here.
