Colnar Wine Cellar

Colnar is a family-run wine cellar with a winemaking tradition that dates back to the year 1400. Over the centuries, the Colnar family has maintained a strong bond with the land and the cultivation of grapes. Today, they tend to over 10 hectares of vineyards across four different locations. Their wine selection includes the indigenous Cviček, Modra Frankinja (Blue Franconian), rosé, Kraljevina, Laški Rizling (Welschriesling), Beli Pinot (Pinot Blanc), and the white blend Collis. In both 2008 and 2014, their Cviček was crowned “King of Cviček,” a prestigious title awarded to the best-rated Cviček of the year—further fueling their passion for viticulture.

A Sustainable Approach
All their wines are made exclusively from grapes grown in their own meticulously maintained vineyards. Healthy grapes at harvest are a priority, so the vines are cared for with great attention. In the cellar, they use modern technology and continuously build on their knowledge, all while respecting the traditions handed down from previous generations. Their wines reflect not only the climate and soil composition but also the human touch—every decision made in the vineyard and the cellar is intentional, ensuring that nothing is left to chance.
