The Open Vineyard Cottages Trail
The trail connects eleven open vineyard cottages included in the Open vineyard cottages project, which invites visitors on weekends to experience the authentic wine tradition of the Dolenjska region. The hospitable vineyard owners of Trška Gora open their cottage doors every Saturday and Sunday, offering a chance to taste the very best this wine-growing area has to offer. You’ll also get to discover the pride of Trška Gora—cviček, an indigenous wine that’s a unique blend of red and white grape varieties.
Open Vineyard Cottage Trail
The trail passes by all eleven vineyard cottages, strategically spread across the entire Trška Gora, from the eastern to the western part of the wine-growing hill. The trail can begin:

in Črešnjice on the eastern slope, leading past the Church of the Nativity of Virgin Mary at the top of Trška Gora, descending to the cottages in the heart of the area, then ascending to a scenic ridge and continuing across Golušnik to finish in Gornje Kamnje;

at the Grm Novo mesto Estate – Centre for Biotechnology and Tourism;

at the Pugelj Inn in the village of Ždinja vas; or

in Gornje Kamnje.
You can set out on the trail at any time. Each vineyard cottage has its own character and offers something unique—premium wine tastings, traditional local cuisine, unforgettable views, or the peacefulness of the vineyards.
