The Tour of Slovenia is the most important cycling event in the country, which for more than three decades has connected different regions and spread the word about the beauties of Slovenia. Novo mesto has a special role in this, as it has most often hosted the start or finish of stages – a total of 33 times, of which 28 times as the final destination. In recent years, Trška Gora has also been included in the final stages of the race, where cyclists overcome a short but steep third-category climb before the finish in Novo Mesto.

A cultural event organized by the Tourist Cultural Association Trškogorsko Srce. The event usually takes place at the Verček Vineyard Cottage, also known as Pušelšank at godmother Jožefina’s place.

The hike along the slopes of Trška Gora is a popular traditional event organized every year by the Trška Gora Winemakers’ Association. At the stops, participants enjoy warm drinks, homemade delicacies, and wine tastings, which allow them to get acquainted with local cuisine and winemaking traditions.

St. Martin’s Day is a traditional Slovenian holiday dedicated to new wine, celebrated on November 11th. This day marks the transformation of must into wine, making it an important event at Trška Gora as well. The celebration takes place in numerous wine cellars where visitors can enjoy homemade delicacies, cviček, and accordion music, contributing to an authentic experience of Dolenjska culture.

A rich musical program and post-concert gathering by the fire, with mulled wine and local treats, always attract many visitors.

The Slak Trail Hike is a meaningful blend of nature, culture, music, and winemaking—a true celebration of the spirit of Trška Gora and the timeless legacy of Lojze Slak.
