Cviček Wine Path

This moderately demanding cycling route takes you across the wine-growing hills, through the village of Paha, offering scenic views of the Krka River valley, the Gorjanci hills, and the Old Castle (Stari grad), a beautiful 13th-century castle building. The castle is admired from a distance, as it is currently not open to visitors.

We continue straight ahead, then soon turn sharply right and descend steeply among the vineyard cottages to Krka Vineyard Estate (Krkin hram). There, we turn left and stay on the main road. After a short climb, the route turns left past the Colnar vineyard cottage, then continues through Črešnjice and right toward Jelše pri Otočcu.

The descent from Trška Gora ends at the highway underpass before the village of Otočec, where we turn left uphill and then immediately right into the village.

Passing the primary school, we continue to another underpass, turn right through it, and arrive in the center of Otočec. At the main road, turn left toward Otočec Castle and Šmarješke Toplice. The castle is just 3 km away along a road that runs above the Krka River.
