School Vineyard Cottage Offer
School Vineyard Cottage (Šolska zidanica), also known as Grm Vineyard Cottage (Grmska zidanica), is one of the most recognisable and historically significant vineyard cottages on Trška gora. Built in the second half of the 19th century as a typical bourgeois vineyard cottage, its architecture and location among the vineyards reflect the rich winemaking heritage of the Dolenjska region. Today, it is owned by Grm Novo mesto – Centre of Biotechnics and Tourism, where it serves as an important venue for practical education of young winegrowers and for preserving knowledge of viticulture and winemaking.
Set in the idyllic surroundings of the Trška gora vineyards, the cottage offers visitors an opportunity to discover Dolenjska’s wine tradition, local flavours and stories connected with life on a vineyard hill. By prior arrangement and during special events, visitors can enjoy guided tours, presentations of viticultural heritage, wine tastings and various culinary experiences linked to the activities of Grm Novo mesto – Centre of Biotechnics and Tourism.
A visit to School Vineyard Cottage is an experience where heritage, education and contemporary approaches to presenting local products come together. Guests can enjoy the authentic atmosphere of a traditional vineyard cottage, learn about vineyard work and admire the views of the picturesque Dolenjska landscape.
